Lake Eufaula

The Canadian River area served as a hideout for famous woman outlaw Belle Starr and also Frank and Jesse James.

 Lake Eufaula was created in
1964 by the construction of a
dam across the Canadian River.

Lake Eufaula has 800 miles of shoreline. It covers 105,500 acres with a maximum depth of 87 feet.

Historical narratives talk about a treasure trove of gold that was buried in our area by ailing Spanish conquistadors who planned to retrieve it on a later date. They never did.
